Let accusors come forward; otherwise, forget it
A few brief thoughts about accusations against Republican Presidential candidate Herman Cain.
When they face no public scrutiny and there is no potential downside for them, plenty of people make false accusations. Learning this fact was, for this commentator, an eye-opener, and something that has made a deep impression. Strange as it is for someone with a positive orientation to imagine, people do make false accusations all the time and that is why, particularly when the sources of these accusations are unknown, they should not be given any weight.
Should the women in question actually come forward, they would be entitled to consideration. But otherwise, there are enough real facts and issues to consider that this should not be allowed to mar Cain’s candidacy.
