Rudy Giuliani: Cure for Commitment Phobia?
In answer to a question about whom she supports for the Republican nomination, Rep. Mary Fallin (R-Oklahoma), speaking on the West Side Wednesday evening to the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC), pointed out that when it comes to Presidential candidates, Americans are a little like commitment-phobic New York singles holding out for the perfect prince or princess.
“We’re gonna have to get over this idea that the perfect one’s gonna come along,” she said. “No one is perfect.”
Fallin was careful not to endorse any candidate. But this blogger interpreted her comment as a possible reference to Rudy Giuliani, for whom numerous members of the RJC group Fallin was addressing had just expressed support. In other words, some Southern Conservative Republicans may be holding out for a pro-life, pro-gun, hard-on-illegal-immigrants Bible belter, but perhaps some realize that a New Yorker with a few issues may on balance be a better date for the cotillion, given his brains, integrity, and the sexy way he stands up to bad guys.
